Summer Programs

Defensive Back

DEFENSIVE BACK PROGRAM

Group Package

  • 8 sessions 

  • 1 hour of field work & 30 minutes of board work/film study​

01 - The Foundation

Three Weeks

  • Players will gain the foundations of having the proper stance, knowing how to align, and back pedaling

  • Knowing how to transition efficiently is the difference between a receiver catching a pass and the defender getting an interception. Here we will concentrate on how to break and open up their hips.

02 - Man to Man

Three Weeks

  • Here players will learn techniques to playing both off and man coverage

  • Tackling at the defensive back position is essential! They will practice different tackling methods.

03 - Ball Hawk

Two Weeks

  • Players will learn how to read the Quarter Back, pre snap reads, and route recognition 

  • We will practice how to take the ball away (force fumbles and interceptions)

  • In this phase, they will learn about zone coverages. Players will be given insights in to how zones function and to how to put themselves in position to make plays. 

Endgame

Final

  • Players will walk away from this program with a sound foundation of the fundamentals for the defensive back position.

  • They will be given safe tackling techniques that can be used during practice and game time.

  • Completing this course will provide athletes with the knowhow of how to thoroughly comprehend both man and zone coverage.

Speed

SPEED PROGRAM

Group Package

  • 8 sessions 

  • Sessions are 60 mins

Phase 01

Three Weeks

  • Athletes begin this phase by being tested on a series of movements that assess their speed, agility, explosiveness, and running form.

  • Here they will learn proper running mechanics that will help them move efficiently.

  • We will guide them through fundamental footwork drills that will help provide them with a foundation for more advanced movements in later phases.

Phase 02

Three Weeks

  • During this phase, we will focus on helping athletes develop their leg and core strength.

  • Knowing the proper way to move is half the battle. By strengthening their legs and core they will build up power that their lower body can exert while pushing off of the ground.

  • Here we will help train their quick twitch muscles, while continuing to build upon the footwork foundation that was laid in phase one. 

Phase 03

Two Weeks

  • Phase 3, athletes will put everything that we would have learned over the weeks, all together.

  • While working and improving on their hip mobility and their bodies flexibility.

  • We will continue to refine their foundation and put them through more advanced movements. 

Endgame

Final

  • Following participating in the speed program, athletes will have a strong foundation in their running technique and footwork movements.

  • Their leg and core strength will progress, therefore, making them more powerful and explosive runners.
